Paperwork

Swiss tax forms, and where they come from

There is no national form catalogue. Your canton issues the return, the Confederation publishes the federal forms, and we link to both rather than mirroring copies that go stale.

  • 26 cantonal systems
  • Official sources only
  • No mirrored PDFs

What actually reaches you

Three pieces of paper that matter

For an employed expatriate, this is the whole of it. Anything else that arrives is usually a request for a document you already have.

The declaration package, from your canton

If you are required to file, your canton sends it — on paper or as credentials for its own online filing tool. Each canton runs its own system, and most now expect the return electronically.

A correction request, under tax at source

Cantonal, and due by 31 March of the following year. That deadline cannot be extended.

The assessment, months after filing

The Veranlagungsverfügung is not a form to complete but a decision to check — against what was filed, inside the 30-day objection window.

Or do not touch a form at all

Completing and filing the return is the service. You send documents through your portal, in the categories the Swiss return uses; we complete the canton’s forms, file electronically, and deal with whatever the office sends back — in the language it writes in.
